Job Title: Proj Cost Analyst SrJob DescriptionThe job designation is remote; however, in-office work will be expected 2-3 days a week for up to 90 days. The candidate must reside in New Albany, OH, and surrounding areas. The first day will require on-location work. Relocation or candidates outside of Ohio will not be considered. The remote to hybrid schedule could change pending executive leadership decisions.Essential Job Functions Tasks:
Aid estimating staff members in evaluating and understanding actual costs measured against estimated costs within the Project Lifecycle Management Process.
Collaborate with Project Management (PM) and other vested parties to facilitate, lead, and perform project revision processes, including the development of estimate vs. EAC cost driver summaries and the creation of revised estimates.
Assist with increasing efficiencies within project cost evaluations.
Assist with data management and improvements to information within the estimating department.
Develop and demonstrate an economic and business acumen with an understanding of the engineering design, procurement, contracting, estimating, project management, construction, and startup procedures and processes.
Develop and demonstrate strategic thinking, planning, risk assessment, and prioritization of project activities skills.
Comprehend contingency applications, risk-based, and percentage-based understand how field conditions impact contingencies.
Utilize reporting mechanisms within company systems.
Train and learn to use estimating applications within the department.
Exhibit an understanding of construction schedules and how they affect costs on projects.
Exhibit an understanding of construction contracting processes.
Interface with various departments within Financial Controls/Business Operations/Engineering/Project Management/Construction Management/etc.
Interface with different Standards groups (Station/T-Line/etc.) to understand data structure and devise methods of capturing data within estimates.
Develop and demonstrate conflict management skills to resolve disputes and maximize synergies with an overriding goal to do the right thing for the company.
Support continuous improvement efforts within the company/department.
Provide training and guidance to lower-level employees as appropriate. Demonstrate development in several areas. Ability to mentor, develop, and guide lower-level analysts through a training plan if appointed as mentor/trainer by supervision.
Additional Skills & QualificationsProject Cost Analyst:Minimum Qualifications: Qualified Bachelor's degree plus two 2 years of qualified experience qualified Associate's degree plus four 4 years of qualified experience in the areas forementioned. Project Cost Analyst Sr: Minimum Qualifications: Qualified Bachelors degree plus five 5 years of qualified experience qualified Associate's degree plus seven 7 years of qualified experience in the areas forementioned. Qualified degrees must be in a related field from an accredited university or college and could include Accounting Business Construction Management Engineering Technology or Project Management. Qualified Experience: Includes utility specific operations knowledge/experience with a good working knowledge of work processes and procedures.
Areas of experience should include combination of planning project management project controls scheduling cost tracking/analysis forecasting project budgets working with accounting principles and/or construction management.
Work SiteThis is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Johnstown, Ohio and some days remote.Work EnvironmentWork Schedule: M-F with the possibility of overtime with permission, however infrequent.
