Job Description

  • Provides a safe, caring and stimulating environment for children by constantly supervising and interacting with the children
  • Displays a positive, dynamic attitude that encourages children's self-esteem
  • Administers discipline consistently and appropriately according to the Code of Conduct Policy
  • Assists in the development of methods of operation
  • Challenges self to research and develop new ideas and strategies for classes taught
  • Communicates and interacts clearly and effectively with parents and staff
  • Respects and considers suggestions and opinions of parents and staff
  • Maintains proper records of children's attendance
  • Maintains cleanliness of gym and surrounding area by cleaning up and putting away equipment after each class is over
  • Works scheduled hours; calls subs and Gymnastics Director when you are unable to work your scheduled hours
  • Turns in-class lesson plans and supply lists to Gymnastics Director at least one week before the new session begins
  • Attends all training required by the Ralph J. Stolle Countryside YMCA and Gymnastics Director
  • Assists in Scholarship Fund Raising activities
  • Adheres to Safety regulations and report safety issues to Building and Grounds or Risk Management
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

At least 15 years of age
Experience in gymnastics and spotting of skills is a plus
Models Countryside core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith
Meets and understands children's wide variety of needs
Creative and fun-loving
