Position Summary:
Penske Logistics is looking for warehouse associates to become part of an excellent team. The Product Handling Champion provides support and some supervision to regular and temporary warehouse associate functions. Works closely with Operations Supervisors to ensure employee productivity expectations are met. Provides a variety of responsibilities to meet the supervisor's expectations.

Major Responsibilities:
Forklift Certification Training
Immediate observation and necessary additional training to new lift drivers
Monitor material handling practices and provide results and corrective action requests to shift supervision.
Provide proper material handling technique demonstrations to lift driver personnel.
Assist in educating warehouse supervision in changes to Whirlpool material handling recommendations, product packaging and stack heights.
Maintain a presence amongst all three shifts.
Responsible for inbound and in house damage claims and process
Performing visual observations of material handling activities on a daily, multi-shift basis. Submit observations to management.
Evaluate Loading & Unloading techniques with written documentation and digital photographs. Materials should be used for building-wide communication program on Always and Nevers of product handling.
Observe and monitor clamp condition.
Coordination and oversight of Inbound Damage Audits and audits requested by RQM’s or management.
Observe arrival conditions of inbound loads, analyze for root cause and post findings on Condition Upon Arrival (CUA) APP site. Review all CUA’s posted for outbound loads, analyze for root cause and post findings.
Conduct Stack Lean Measurements and understand causes of Stack Failures. Conduct handling testing per request from RQM or management.
Support Quality Management Team and Regional Quality Manager process improvement activities.
Participate in all quality forums and drive Continuous Improvement activities.

Qualifications:
4 years of warehouse experience required
2 years of inventory or materials management experience preferred
2 years of supervisory experience preferred
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior forklift certification preferred
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint preferred
Ability to learn and use proprietary software required
Flexible to work overtime preferred
Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions
Ability to lead a small team, ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexibility required, excellent with numbers, time management, and ability to execute are required.
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
