Job Title: Tool and Die MakerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Technician who will be responsible for working with Transfer and Progressive Dies. The candidate will set up dies in the press, troubleshoot dies inside and outside of the press, and perform industrial maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting on machines. The role also involves general maintenance, machining parts using manual mills and lathes, tool cutting, welding (MIG, ARC, Stick & Tig), fabrication, and blueprint reading. The candidate should be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and using overhead cranes and forklifts.Responsibilities
Set up dies in the press
Troubleshoot dies inside and outside of the press
Perform industrial maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting on machines
Conduct general maintenance tasks
Machine parts using manual mills and lathes
Perform tool cutting
Weld using MIG, ARC, Stick & Tig methods
Engage in fabrication tasks
Read and interpret blueprints
Lift up to 50 lbs
Operate overhead cranes and forklifts
Essential Skills
Journeyman card or 8 years of tool and die experience
Ability to operate manual machines for machining parts (Manual Mills/Lathes)
Proficiency in tool and die making, blueprint reading, machining, repair, troubleshooting, die repair, stamping, grinding, die setting, die troubleshooting, hydraulics, and using micrometers
Own tools
Strong attendance record
Work EnvironmentThe position is for the 2nd shift, running from 3 PM to 11 PM, Monday to Friday, totaling 40 hours a week. This is a direct hire position in a union facility (UAW Local 12), with a 2% shift premium for off-shift hours.
