Staff Accountant

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in North Canton, Ohio. This role is in the transportation industry where you will be expected to handle tasks such as balancing sheets, intercompany transactions, and month-end close. You will also be involved in auditing accounting work for accuracy prior to close. Responsibilities: Conducting intercompany accounting tasks and transactions Performing audits to ensure accuracy of accounting work before closing Handling balance sheet accounts and updating them as necessary Working on profit and loss statements and providing accurate valuations Managing and executing month-end and year-end close processes Utilizing software such as "Direct Systems" and Microsoft Excel in carrying out tasks Performing bank reconciliations and maintaining general ledger Handling job cost calculations and providing salvage valuations Processing journal entries as part of the accounting tasks Assisting with other duties as assigned within the accounting function Skills: Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Competency in Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger management Ability to process Journal Entries and handle Month End Close Familiarity with Intercompany Accounting and Profit and Loss statements Knowledge of Balance Sheet Account management and Job Cost calculations Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to generate Financial Statements. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar capacity Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience with Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger management Ability to handle Journal Entries and Month End Close procedures Knowledge of Intercompany Accounting and Profit and Loss analysis Familiarity with Balance Sheet Account management and Job Cost calculations Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software Experience in preparing and analyzing Financial Statements Understanding of ethical guidelines applicable to the accounting profession Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to multitask and manage time effectively Solid problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions Willingness to stay updated on industry trends and developments Strong commitment to detail oriented and client service excellence.
