Description If you have a strong comprehension of software and applications programming and industry requirements, Robert Half has an excellent opportunity to become a Programmer Analyst in the Education - University industry. You would create and define systems scope and objectives in this role. Using research and fact-finding, you will recommend developments and modifications for applications or databases. Do not miss this long-term contract Programmer Analyst employment opportunity.Key responsibilitiesProvides guidance for internal clients on applications, systems and/or processes for identifying and resolving, processing/reporting problems with programming. Consultation can include troubleshooting and/or education
Helps create communication content for certain system changes being implemented in production
Provides end users and other partner groups with continuing training and assistance for a specific application, system or process
Builds dictionaries for applications and systems support by the analyst, and ensures they are up to date
Assesses and logs issues. Works alongside other programmers to correct problems with code
Analyzes user requests for changes or improvements to systems. Creates documents of functional requirements and reviews cost, feasibility and utility. Suggests how, when and whether to proceed with the changes
Create and test programming changes for every systems development phase prior to implementation. Write test cases and expected outcomes. Review results and verify that requirements are met. May develop simple tests or a defined subset of larger tests. May recommend acceptance/rejection if requirements are not all met
Evaluates methods of processing. Makes suggestions for improvements
Requirements - Demonstrated success acting in a project management capacity
PL/SQL Programming experience
Command of PL/SQL
General familiarity with SQL
Computer Programming experience highly preferred
Proficiency in PL/SQL Development
Oracle PL/SQL experience desired
Adeptness in Oracle
Oracle PL/SQL experience
Demonstrated knowledge of SQL
Practical knowledge of communication
3+ years experience as a project leader for the business portion of developmental applications or major systems improvements
Programming language knowledge required
Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
General knowledge of mainframe hardware/software and PC operations required
