Staff Systems Engineer

Description We are seeking a Staff Systems Engineer. As a crucial member of our team, you will lead the design and implementation of computer and information networks, focusing on local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and customer or cloud data communications networks. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. Responsibilities: Expertly design and implement wide area network technologies, including Cisco, Aruba, MPLS, SDWAN, ISPs, and Wi-Fi. Conduct network modeling, data analysis, and planning of the global data network to ensure a secure data networking environment. Regularly research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software, providing consultation to business leaders about the overall performance, health, and maintenance of the data network. Collaborate with teams to drive efforts to completion, utilizing deep technical knowledge and awareness of emerging trends. Develop technical network solutions based on business requirements. Perform network modeling, analysis, remediation, and planning, engineering, and executing software functions as it relates to network equipment and data communications. Develop and manage test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects. Identify and recommend solutions to meet customer needs, and implement the chosen solution. Manage system/solution performance from identification of need to implementation and ongoing monitoring. Analyze system/software performance and adjust network specifications based on any identified problems. Ensure network connectivity is optimized to utilize hardware at its highest capacity. Perform network analysis and disaster recovery planning and testing for the company’s WAN environment. Establish baselines for network and application performance. Communicate regularly with client and vendor groups to determine needs for short-term and future growth. Work closely with the customer’s leadership and project team during the scope development and option analysis phase. Handle other projects as assigned by leadership.
