Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.What YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Supervisor is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s environmental health and safety programs. This role leads and promotes a culture of safety within the site, and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations,In this position, you will get to:Compliance and Regulatory Requirements :
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations for waste management, water discharge, and air permitting.
Monitor and analyze EHS regulatory requirements and risk initiatives.
Oversee incident/accident reporting, conduct investigations, and perform root cause analysis.
Conduct EHS hazard & risk assessments to identify existing EHS hazards and risks, and assist in the placement/implementation of required controls.
Maintain records of safety incidents and compliance activities.
Create and enforce safety policies and procedures.
Training and Safety Culture :
Lead and facilitate comprehensive EHS programs and training to meet regulatory and company obligations.
Promote a culture of safety within the site and ensure active participation in safety initiatives.
Coordinate behavior-based safety and ergonomic improvement activities.
Review & analysis trends of EHS incidents and performance, to identify any significant issues/gaps, inform and recommend corrective measures.
Operational Support :
Serve as the site EHS expert and main contact for all safety and environmental inquiries, maintaining an active floor presence to engage with frontline employees and leaders.
Assist in setting up EHS Committees/Teams and oversee coordination between these groups.
Identify and coordinate support from outside consultants, including developing scopes of work. Issue contracts and permits as needed.
Partner with HR and Case Nurse to manage workers’ compensation cases and emergency situations.
You have:
An understanding and ability to apply safety & environmental regulations in a manufacturing setting.
Ability to drive continuous EH&S improvement and Lean Manufacturing progress.
Ability to interact appropriately with regulatory inspectors during inspections and follow-up activities.
Strong written/verbal communication skills to interface with all levels inside/outside the organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and other relevant systems.
Ability to meet internal and external customer needs with a strong sense of urgency.
Ability to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing business environment.
Requirements:
BA or BS degree in Engineering, Science, Safety or Environmental.
Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g. CSP, CIH, CHMM) is preferred.
1-2 years’ experience as an EHS Specialist in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment leading safety and/or environmental management systems.
