Join us and contribute to Sedgwick being a great place to work.Great Place to Work®Most Loved Workplace®Forbes Best-in-State EmployerCase CoordinatorPRIMARY PURPOSE : To gather claim data and manage low to mid-level workers compensation claims to full duty Return to work; facilitate appropriate treatment services efficiently, within required Ohio BWC Guidelines for compliance, company standards, industry best practices and/or client specific requirements to promote best outcomes.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

Obtains expected elements for subsequent EDI to the Bureau of Workers Compensation (BWC).

Manages medical-only and low- to mid-level lost-time workers compensation claims under close supervision.

Processes workers compensation claims reviewing receipt of compensation; Treatment plans; facilitating services; collaborating with all claim parties with updates and changes.

Verifies return to work documentation through telephonic and written communications and records return to work dates appropriately in system(s).

Manages claims in close collaboration with Claims Management Team.

Supports other claims management staff with larger or more complex claims as necessary.

Makes referral for case management and/or utilization management when work status changes due to functional limitations/medical instability.

Documents communications and claims management appropriately in system(s).

Responds to all inquiries within one (1) business day.

Maintains knowledge of BWC rules and laws, workers compensation process, and CHS policies and procedures.

Maintains professional client relationships

Meets and maintains productivity and quality expectations

QUALIFICATIONSEducation & LicensingHigh School diploma or GED required.ExperienceOne (1) year case management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.Skills & Knowledge

Knowledge of BWC Mandatory and Expected EDI Transmission elements

Good oral and written communication skills

PC literate, including Microsoft Office products

Good organizational and time management skills

Good customer service skills

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities

Decision making/problem solving skills

Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies

  • POSITION SUMMARY Under the direction of the Manager of Jobst Medication Therapy Management, performs support functions necessary for the daily operations. Functions include but are not limited to the “Accountabilities” listed below. ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Communicates politely and effectively with patients, pharmacists, and all other healthcare providers verbally in-person and via phone, as well as written through mail and electronic medical record (EMR). a. Using EMR, documents all communications accurately and thoroughly and directs the message as needed to the appropriate person. b. Using EMR, sends Standing Order/Confirmation of Verbal Order/specific request finalized by the pharmacist to a lab, home health agency, extended-care-facility, physician, etc. c. Via pharmacist direction, communicates normal results and medication directions to the patient or caregiver. d. Reviews the list of patients overdue for bloodwork and contacts patients and physicians accordingly. e. Compiles orders requiring physician signatures and coordinates accordingly. 2. Using EMR, schedules/reschedules patient appointments for the pharmacist visit. a. Reviews MyChart notifications and EMR report and contacts patients as needed. b. Reviews the list of currently admitted patients and contacts patients upon discharge. Coordinates with inpatient providers to set up appointment before hospital discharge when possible. c. Prepares necessary papers for patient appointments with the pharmacist and completes necessary paperwork related to patient care with appropriate follow-up. 3. Using EMR, extracts and enters patient information from/into a medical record. a. Scans pertinent information into the patient chart. b. Retrieves demographics/pertinent information for a patient mailing, home monitor application, etc. c. Maintains patient filing system. 4. Using EMR, completes daily billing audits and corrects inaccurate charges. 5. Complies with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, regulatory compliance, and safety standards. 6. Attends mandatory staff meetings and performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
