Basic Purpose:As a member of ProMedica’s marketing communications department, the Marketing Communications Specialist – Acute Care is responsible for executing marketing communications strategy that aligns with business and clinical goals and drives optimum outcomes for the organization. This individual serves assigned service/business units’ operational communications needs. This position reports to the Director of Marketing Communications – Acute Care and operates as a key member of the Marketing Communications Team to effectively and efficiently implement marketing communications strategy within the context of department and system goals.Primary Duties: Works collaboratively with Director of Marketing Communications – Acute Care to execute comprehensive communications plans for key operational/clinical initiatives (i.e., safety, patient experience, performance improvement, care and cost transformation, patient education, etc.).

Serves as the primary Marketing Communications contact for assigned clients (business unit operational support functions, clinical departments, etc.).

Fields incoming requests from assigned clients to assess marketing communications needs and develop appropriate marketing communications tactics.

Brainstorms and recommends new ideas to enhance marketing communications.

Provides sound marketing communications counsel to assigned clients in the planning, development and maintenance of marketing communications plans and campaigns.

Provides system perspective and positioning to assigned clients to encourage system-wide alignment and consistency.

Contributes input and content to Marketing Communications vehicles, including myProMedica, promedica.org, social media, etc.

Develops and creates outcomes-oriented, information-rich content for stakeholders across a wide variety of publications and vehicles.

Contributes to marketing communications measurement processes and monitors data for assigned projects and clients.

Collaborates with Marketing Communications colleagues to produce effective print and digital communications that are timely, accurate and on target with budget and client expectations.

Participates in media on-call schedule as assigned by Director of Public Relations.

General Information/Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, public relations, or communications

3 – 5 years of communications experience; health care experience is preferred.

A demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while handling a large volume of projects from multiple clients.

Experience working with and leveraging a wide variety of communications vehicles (digital, video, print).

Must be comfortable working with clients representing various/diverse areas throughout the organization, as well as between facilities/work stations.

A demonstrated aptitude for understanding complex issues and the ability to translate them for stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Critical thinking skills and the initiative to explore new approaches, tactics, ideas, etc.

An ability to handle multiple, deadline-oriented projects simultaneously.

Mature interpersonal skills, including an enthusiasm for teamwork and the ability to easily develop effective relationships with marketing communications co-workers and clients at all levels of the organization.
