Instead, we focus on developing products and services that allow us to better serve our customers and the communities around us and help our members achieve their best possible health and quality of life.Develops relationships with brokers/agencies that are active in the individual insurance market to assist in the development of sales & retention efforts along. Collaborates with team to assist brokers with questions concerning applications submitted, renewals, resolution to issues and other updates. Identifies training and updates needed for brokers concerning procedures, industry and/or health care reform. Maintains current knowledge of industry changes, laws & regulations that may impact the individual market.Responsibilities

Develops and maintains effective business relationships with assigned brokers to achieve annual sales, retention and financial targets.Consults with agent for an understanding of their business goals, product/service needs, financial situation, and decision making/buying process Creates procedures to effectively manage the agency to meet individual market growth objectives.

Collaborates with Sales Consultant as needed for external meetings/presentations with broker agencies, as well as internal corporate meetings on projects.

Provides assistance in finalizing proposals/applications with brokers as well as follow up on any outstanding questions/issues.

Maintains knowledge and awareness of the Company’s competitive strengths to help achieve differentiation and sales success.

Performs other department-specific duties and activities to enhance overall effectiveness and productivity of the team.

Maintains/updates information systems to manage sales pipeline, broker and client data, etc.

Provides assistance in finalizing proposals/applications with brokers as well as follow up on any outstanding questions/issues.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.

3 years sales/account management experience in the health insurance industry which includes direct customer contact, preferably in the individual market and/or dealing with brokers.

Professional Certification(s):

Ohio Department of Insurance License (Health & Life) (or required to obtain within 4 months of hire).

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of health insurance products; sales and industry processes including underwriting, stop loss, benefit plan design; health care funding arrangements; and related laws/regulations including HIPPA, COBRA, FMLA.

Ability to generate leads, make presentations, negotiates and close sales opportunities.

Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
