Job Description

FCBDD is now accepting applications/resumes for a full-time Community First Specialist. Under the general supervision of the Director of Community First, this position is responsible for coordinating the Transition Youth program, Advocacy and Special Olympics events in Fayette county. The Transition Youth program will assist Fayette county school age students with preparing for their careers. This position will coordinate Special Olympics events in Fayette county and will recruit/coordinate volunteer coaches for the various sporting events. We are looking for a candidate who is willing to assist People First Self-Advocacy Group events and who will encourage program participants to participate in Ohio Self-Determination Association events including Project STIR, regional advocacy meetings, conferences, and who can provide transportation to/from special events related to the Community First Program.

Qualifications

A related associate degree or equivalent experience working in the DD field is preferred. A Highschool Diploma/Equivalent is the minimum requirement.

Additional Information

Individual must be able to pass criminal background checks as required by the Ohio Revised Code; a preemployment drug screen and physical, have/maintain a valid clean Ohio Driver’s License. FCBDD is an EOE employer. A 180-day probationary period must be completed. Individual must be able to be insured on the county's liability policy.
