Your Opportunity: The Planner exercises discretion and independent judgment to confirm parts availability for the near-term production across an assigned group of suppliers. Problem-solving delivery issues, engaging Suppliers, Engineering and Sourcing; Help train incoming Planners; Communicate material plans with manufacturing.Sponsorship: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Candidates should prepare for an on-site schedule, that includes 5 days on-site for the majority of the schedule. This is a salaried role, and successful applicants will be available to support core business hours. Core business hours typically begin between around 7:00 a.m., and departure time is generally around 4:00 p.m. EDT. What Will You Do? In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:
Ensure production needs are met. Specializes in critical need activities to support Production Planning. Attends Tier meetings and communicates material status.
Develops the material requirements for assigned commodities using all Toro SAP information, planned order and buy information. Plans purchase orders and JIT materials within the inventory, freight costs and turn ratio goals. Firm releases specifying quantities and delivery dates utilizing the desired inventory level policies. Maintain the A, B, C policies as prescribed.
Coordinates all transportation activities for assigned commodities keeping the overall costs within the optimum cost and time parameters. Following the Tomah/Toro freight policies. Work with the buyer and vendor to resolve any and all problems.
Reports problems in a timely manner, works with suppliers until issues are resolved. Assists in the issuance of lines down reports. Analyzes the exception reports stating the over/under ordered and initiates the changes that are needed.
Works with the Service department to obtain parts in support of the service fill rates.
What Do You Need? To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required, advanced degree strongly preferred.
Minimum of 1-3 years, 5-10 years preferred, of progressive experience in an order processing and technical customer service environment. Mechanical aptitude preferred. Demonstrated positive work record, including indications of strong self-motivation, high productivity, reliable attendance, attention to quality, ability to learn new skills, and a cordial, cooperative personality.
Demonstrated excellent skills in organizing and prioritizing work in a rapidly changing environment.
Excellent communication skills, in person, by telephone, and in writing. This includes presenting a professional, friendly, helpful, self-confident image, along with a good command of word usage, spelling, and grammar. Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written, critical thinking skills, and must possess the ability to cross-train in other tasks. Must be tactful, professional, and detail-oriented.
Demonstrate keyboarding skills, including accuracy and speed. Strong data entry and system navigation skills. Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office required.

Works directly with the Planning Team. Deals with multiple suppliers. Develop rapport with both the supplier and buyer. Makes oral and written presentations. Must work with Suppliers, Sourcing and Manufacturing contacts in a professional manner.
Frequently in the manufacturing setting with moving equipment and varying lighting, temperature, and noise levels.
Typical office environment as it pertains to lighting, temperature, and noise level when in administrative/operations offices.
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse, and to handle other computer components.
Ability to stand and walk up to six (6) hours a day.
