As an Application Security Intern, you will work directly with the Application Security team to develop knowledge of security tools, penetration testing, secure development best practices, as well as Paycoms policies and procedures. An Application Security Intern will have the opportunity to spend time with team mentors and leadership to develop a better understanding of Application Security and the skills that are used in the workforce. Additionally, interns will have a chance to work together as a group to complete a security project that will be used at Paycom.RESPONSIBILITIES
Learn the basics of web application security assessments, vulnerability scanning and testing
Performs research and penetration testing on custom test applications to better understand common web vulnerabilities
Participate in a CTF event and provide a report to leadership based off of vulnerability findings and best practices to fix the vulnerabilities
Work to develop secure software by participating in a full-stack oriented security development project
Spend one on one time with Application Security team members to better understand what each analyst does
Work with Paycom Development staff to remediate vulnerabilities found in internal applications
Attend meetings and event to better understand how the Paycom technology departments work together
Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
Performs additional duties and assignments as requested
QualificationsEducation/Certification:
Enrollment in Bachelors Degree Program in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related Field
Skills/Abilities:
Passionate about information security
Knowledge of OWASP and other software security best practices
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to deliver reports and summaries of findings and projects
Interpret and apply laws, regulations and policies
Work for extended time at keyboard/terminal
Maintain effective working relationships with supervisor and coworkers
