OverviewGovCIO is currently hiring for an Architecture Team Manager to oversee and manage the architectural design and development process for various projects This position will be located in Washington D.C and will be a fully remote role.ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:

Architectural Design and Strategy:

Develop and maintain the IT architectural blueprint to guide technology decisions.

Design scalable, secure, and reliable IT systems and solutions.

Create detailed architectural documentation, including diagrams and technical specifications.

Solution Development and Implementation:

Lead the design and implementation of IT infrastructure, applications, and integrations.

Ensure solutions are aligned with business needs and comply with industry standards.

Oversee the development of prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate designs.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Work closely with business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors to gather and define requirements.

Translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Communicate architectural decisions and strategies to stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, effectively communicating and coordinating with colleagues to achieve project goals and deliver high-quality solutions.

Technology Evaluation and Selection:

Assess and recommend new technologies, tools, and practices.

Conduct technical evaluations and proof-of-concept exercises.

Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends including GenAI-based solutions.

Performance Optimization:

Monitor and optimize the performance of IT systems and applications.

Identify opportunities for improving efficiency, scalability, and reliability.

Implement enhancements and upgrades as needed.

Project Management Support:

Support Project Managers (PMs) to lead and manage IT architecture projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.

Assist in developing project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.

Work closely with PMs to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

Quality Assurance and Governance:

Implement best practices for system design, development, and deployment.

Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with architectural standards.

Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT solutions.

Leadership, Mentorship, and Team Management:

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to IT teams.

Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Conduct training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities.

Supervise and mentor a team of architects and other senior IT personnel.

Conduct performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.

Manage workload and resource allocation.

Client and Vendor Relations:

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors (e.g. ServiceNow).

Understand client needs and translate them into successful design solutions.

Present designs and project updates to clients and stakeholders.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure all solutions comply with client security and privacy regulations.

QualificationsBachelor's with 15+ years (or commensurate experience)Required Skills and Experience

Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TOGAF, CISSP)

Minimum of 15 years of experience as an architect/architect manager and project management.

Strong background in designing and implementing IT infrastructure and applications.

Solid understanding of networking, IT security, and data management.

Knowledge of Agile methodologies, ITIL, CMDB, ITSM, ITOM, and ITAM best practices.

Proficiency in architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).

Expertise in cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Proven ability to collaborate effectively as a member of and with cross-functional teams to achieve project success.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance

Preferred Skills and Experience

ServiceNow certifications are a plus.

Previous experience in Civilian Federal government agency is desired.
