The Enterprise Product Security Engineering (PSE) Organization is seeking a Core Cyber Engineering and Team Manager to join us in one of the following locations: Seattle, WA, Arlington, VA, Aurora, CO, Colorado Springs, CO, El Segundo, CA, Huntington Beach, CA, Huntsville, AL, Mesa, AZ, Oklahoma City, OK, Berkeley, MO, or Ridley Park, PA.

This manager will be responsible for organizing, equipping, developing, and leading core PSE teams for special projects, to include AvionX and Wisk Aerospace Joint Venture, as well as technology strategy efforts and resulting engineering and product centric technology developments. Boeing PSE is responsible, through the deployment of PSE workforce to engineering and programs teams, for the security, resiliency, and safety of products and services.

In this role, you will be responsible for the Core Enterprise PSE Engineering team, assigned and accountable to the Enterprise Director, PSE. You will ensure that our engineers and analysts are ready and able to deliver secure and resilient products and services to our customers. You will be the champion for PSE across the Core Engineering team and our supported programs and partners, ensuring the success of AvionX and Wisk programs and engineering teams. You will be the primary engineering management representative to the AvionX and Wisk organizations, to ensure the successful engineering integration, workforce strategy, technical excellence, and overall operations of PSE for business partners.

In this role you will support and work across the Enterprise-team's core programs and initiatives, which are establishing critical enterprise-accessible vertical expertise & capacity in avionics and cybersecurity engineering, as well as in the area of commercial urban-mobility and autonomy. You will have the opportunity to shape and influence Enterprise PSE.

Furthermore, your efforts will directly inform our Enterprise PSE team and strategy with lessons learned, technology, and solutions, that directly enhances our commercial and defense offerings. You will be a part of Boeing's growing Enterprise PSE organization, which is a multi-disciplinary cybersecurity engineering organization that is responsible for the cyber security and resiliency of our products, platforms, and services. You will have multiple responsibilities across the life-cycle of programs and products, including the design and development of next generation systems.

Product Security Engineers and Leaders are working across Boeing, to jointly develop best practices, techniques and tools, and a diverse technical community to draw upon to deliver best value to our customers.

The successful candidate must understand and possess demonstrable skills and experiences, including:

  • Attracting, recruiting, developing and retaining talent.
  • Leading or supporting program/project planning and execution
  • Planning, executing, and leading the execution of a multi-discipline engineering related activity, in a team environment
  • Engineering-project team leadership or management
  • Developing and delivering technical solutions for products and systems
  • Applying Cybersecurity Engineering and Product Security Engineering standards and methods, such as Cyber Security Framework, Risk Management Framework, and Cyber Maturation Methodologies to a product for cyber security and resiliency, and compliance outcomes
  • Working with, and within commercial and/or defense cybersecurity regulations and guidelines


Successful candidates are highly motivated and exhibit strong written and verbal communication, inter-personal, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and effectively with customers and subcontractors in a multi-site and multi-discipline program and environment.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Core Enterprise PSE Engineering leader responsible for developing, deploying, representing and leading an assigned team of AvionX and Wisk PSEs
  • Primary PSE management representative to supported programs, responsible for the success through integrated PSE, for those partners
  • Hiring and developing top talent for current and anticipated programs and product lines, as part of a robust Long-Range People Planning Supporting Workforce Strategy
  • Engineering leader for PSE organizational strategy and actions including staff alignment, deployment, training, and Responsibility, Authority, and Accountability (RAA)
  • Engineering leader for ensuring engineering integrity, first time quality and efficient execution of Product Security activities on all supported programs through the Gated Process and active participation in major program milestones, in addition to other technical design reviews
  • Support management, planning and execution of Enterprise PSE Digital Transformation and Technology Strategy efforts, to include new developments and transitions to engineering and program users

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 1+ years of experience with developing, delivering, and supporting products and systems as an engineer
  • Experience with cyber security and/or product security engineering
  • Experience leading employees/teams involved in multiple engineering disciplines


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Active U.S. Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Cyber Security Engineering
  • Experience with engineering practices as individual or leading a team, on multiple programs and/or business areas, delivering on commitments
  • Experience with avionics and embedded system architecture, design, development and test
  • Engineering Team and personnel management experience
  • Experience supporting or leading proposals
  • Experience establishing and adapting engineering teams or organizations
  • Experience with the use of Model Based Engineering tools, such as CAMEO, and the application of relevant markup languages such as UML and SysML
  • Experience using Development - Security - Operations (DevSecOps) relevant tools and methodologies
  • Experience in systems and/or software engineering, including: Development of Architecture, Requirements, Concepts of Operations, and Use Cases, Development of Hardware and Software products, Integration and Unit Test, Verification and Validation, and Testing, including Acceptance and Fielding Tests
  • Understanding of DFARS Clause 252.204-7012, CNSSI 1253, DOD 8570, NIST 800-160, NIST 800-53 (and 53A), NIST 800-30, NIST 800-171, NIST 800-55, NIST 800-137, NIST 800-39
  • Experience with complex safety critical systems development process methodologies and associated practices, such as but not limited to, DO-356A, DO-326A

Summary pay range: $114,000-$212,940
