The Development Project Manager (PM) is responsible for overseeing the initiation, planning and execution of projects within the Software Development Department. A successful PM will monitor teams to ensure objectives are met, have an understanding of the respective modules, and deliver features within scope on time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead Meetings. Create and lead various project and scheduling meetings for both small and large groups. Establish agenda to maximize use of meeting time. Distribute meeting decisions and action items to keep the teams informed and on track.
  • Generate work items and track progress. Create and maintain item tracker issues and ensure that all relevant data is kept up to date (descriptions, estimated development time, approval source, scheduling, assignments, etc.). Monitor the progress of projects to ensure they will be completed on time.
  • Coordinate daily with development leaders, quality assurance leaders, and product management. Identify high priority items and schedule meetings with respective project team members and stakeholders. Communicate through email and item tracker.
  • Create status reports. Inform stakeholders (project teams and supervisors, upper management, operational business units, cross-departmental) of progress. Produce several reports throughout the lifecycle of the project. These reports should identify project description, key event summary, identified challenges, and timeline of each milestone of the project.
  • Identify challenges and manage change requests by working with colleagues to identify changing requirements and ensure that appropriate parties are updated on project modifications. Intervene where needed to clear road blocks and clarify process and action items.
  • Develop project plans. Create and maintain a project breakout and timeline. Coordinate with the Developers, QA, Product, App Support, IT, and other departments to ensure each piece gets done on time and expectations are managed.

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelors Degree Required

Experience Required:

  • years of experience in project management experience required

Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge in MS Office Suite, specifically Word, PPT, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills in written, verbal, and presentation
  • Ability to lead with confidence - Motivate teams and manage projects with a calm and reassuring demeanor
  • Ability to demonstrate change management and organization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field

Experience:

  • 2 years experience in leading projects

Skills and Abilities Preferred

  • Experience in Project Management Software
