The Human Resources Director role oversees all aspects of HR within the manufacturing plants of an assigned business unit, ranging from recruitment, retention, employee development, employee relations and compliance. Managing legal compliance within HR practices including but not limited to, AAP, EEO, unemployment, litigation, termination, and severance issues.
Effective delivery of key HR processes such as payroll, benefits administration, leave of absences, performance management, employee development and compensation planning.
Development and execution of recruitment initiatives that drive an enhanced employee value proposition and the delivery of business unit/functional strategies
Development and implementation of talent management and succession planning projects.
Ability to objectively conduct unbiased investigations and assess risk profiles
Partnering with cross-functional HR peers, and other business support functions including but not limited to, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, and Law to enhance strategic program effectiveness.
Understanding of both Union and Non-Union environments including, contract negotiation, grievance resolution, arbitration, positive employee relations programs and Union organizing campaign management
Ability to lead, direct and actively develop direct reports.
Ability to deal with ambiguity, change in a dynamic business environment as well as conflict management and mediation skills
Ability to develop strong consulting relationships and influence business leaders through coaching and partnership
Effective and deliberate communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams Power BI, etc.).
Experience with Workday or other HRIS
Effective project management
Qualifications:
Education - Bachelors, HR or related field; Masters preferred but not required
Ten years of progressive Human Resources experience and at least three years of Human Resources management experience is required.
Must have plant operations experience. Preferred experience leading multiple sites and positive employee relation campaigns.
Proven leadership, objectivity, and the ability to analyze complex problems from multiple perspectives.
The capacity and desire to partner closely with functional leaders as well as corporate management is critical.
Must be able to manage multiple priorities, produce accurate and high-quality work results and follow through on commitments. A strong sense of urgency is required.
