It fuels our passion and drives every decision we make.Job Posting TitlePharmacy Benefit Database Specialist - RemoteJob DescriptionPurpose:The Pharmacy Benefit Database Specialist - Remote is responsible for supporting formulary maintenance activities and facilitates the accurate set up of Prime’s formulary databases, corresponding formulary publications and various downstream processes. This position is responsible for supporting analytical tasks related to ongoing maintenance of formulary databases, Medi-Span and other external drug data element review, and related quality assurance tasks for downstream processes pertaining to formulary.Responsibilities:

Maintain Prime formularies and publications for reporting analysis according to regulations including production, quality assurance checks, reporting, and issue management

Update Medi-Span Product Files and perform comparative analysis to meet requests. Update product and database files to resolve issues. Prepare Ad hoc report requests including multi-client formulary, generic product indicator (GPI) and database National Drug Code (NDC) lists

Analyze formulary status requests to determine if action is required in Formulary Workplace

Support project work including new client implementations, new regulations, creating and/or updating Desktop Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, job aids creation, auditing and formulary database enhancements

Communicate with Clinical Program Managers, along with Trade, Utilization Management, Clinical Review and Marketing departments to ensure client formulary decisions are implemented using internal tracking tools

Ability to come into Prime's office in Eagan, MN occasionally for various trainings and meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma from an accredited school or equivalent GED

1 year of work experience in pharmacy, hospital, or managed healthcare industry

Additional Qualifications:

Technical aptitude to maintain databases and complete formulary systems updates in managed care environment

Organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with attention for detail

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure with strict timelines

Microsoft Word and Excel experience (pivot tables and basic equations)

Preferred Qualifications:

Associates degree or higher in IT, Liberal Arts, Business, Science or related area of study

Knowledge of prescription drug formulary

Formulary Workplace experience

Intermediate or Advanced experience with Excel

Minimum Physical Job Requirements:

Ability to work a flexible schedule including shifts outside of Prime’s core business hours of 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Ability to sit for long periods of time, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear

Frequently required to reach with hands and arms

Occasionally required to stand, and walk

Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Reporting Structure:

Reports to a Supervisor or Manager in the PBM Operations department

Potential pay for this position ranges from $20.43 - $29.09 based on experience and skills.
