Job Summary:
Buff vehicles and prepare them for the body shop paint technicians.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:
-File, grind, sand and smooth filled or repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools.
-Cut and tape plastic separating film to outside repair areas to avoid damaging surrounding surfaces during procedures.
-Sand body areas to be painted and cover bumpers, windows, and trim with masking tape or paper to protect from paint.
-Prepares vehicles for body repair work.
-Applies wax to auto body, and wipes or buffs surface.
-Uses proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection.
-Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
-Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
-Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
-Keeps work area neat and clean and reports any safety issues immediately to management.
-Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Previous buffing experience
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Good attention to detail
WORK ENVIRONMENT
-Position is physically demanding
-Fast paced environment
-Majority of shift will be spent kneeling, standing, walking, crawling, squatting, and stooping
