Job SummaryJob Summary:
The Vice Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences position will be in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. This position is actively involved in teaching medical students and residents and clinical care. Further activities include mental health advocacy in the Tulsa region. As the Vice Chair, the position will also be involved in departmental administration. Appropriate effort and activity in clinical services and research will also be necessary as well as a sufficient record of academic publications to qualify for faculty appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor, depending on current publication and funding records. The position will work with existing Psychiatry and Behavioral sciences faculty.This position may be Tenure Track or Non-Tenure Track.Environmental Hazards:
Possible exposure to hazardous materials, hot and cold, blood borne pathogens.Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, carry push, and pull 20 pounds, stoop, reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations. Sufficient to carry out specific job functions of a psychiatrist.Position QualificationsRequired:
D.O. or M.D. with board certification in Psychiatry.
Must have teaching experience
Five (5) or more years in academic psychiatry or equivalent experience.
Skills, Proficiencies and Knowledge:
Requires strong analytical skills, advanced multi-tasking skills, advanced problem solving skills, grant writing, and the ability to effectively plan. Good communication and leadership skills are a positive. Interpersonal skills are required to interact effectively with faculty, community leaders, and students.
