Sr. Supply Chain ManagerThe Manager of Supply Chain Management will act as an integral member of the local senior operations leadership team, creating net value for Ducommun by leading the design and ongoing execution of a competitive supply chain infrastructure. The incumbent will have responsibility for all aspects of the supply chain for the site. Who are we? Founded in 1849, Ducommun is the oldest company in California. Starting as a hardware supply store during the California Gold Rush and eventually assisted in the birth of the aerospace industry in Southern California by providing aircraft aluminum to early aerospace pioneers like Lindbergh, Douglas and Lockheed. Today Ducommun is a global provider of innovative manufacturing solutions for customers in the aerospace, defense and industrial markets. We specialize in electronic and structural systems, producing complex products and components for commercial aircraft platforms, mission-critical military and space programs, and sophisticated industrial applications. Our Facility in Tulsa, Oklahoma manufactures state-of-the-art circuit boards for Aerospace and Defense.Job Summary

Implement supply chain vision and strategic leadership. Scope of leadership includes the planning and execution activities associated with related business processes, systems development and utilization, purchased cost estimating, source selection and contracting, strategic partnering, supplier relationship management, compliance/governance and program execution.

Manage the site supply inventory and partner closely with internal customers to create operational excellence in the procurement of materials, equipment and services.

Lead local supply chain teams in the participation and optimization of cross site processes and procedures; driving efficiencies and commonality across all Ducommun sites.

Build and lead a high performance supply chain team. Includes selection, training, development, succession and performance management.

Manage the annual procurement budget in support of the company’s goals and objectives. Plan and achieve savings to the budget.

Work closely with site leadership and teams to improve business performance in supply chain management and to ensure the highest level of internal and external customer satisfaction. Implement supply chain best practices and strategies to continually improve processes and procedures for procurement of materials, equipment and services.

Drive supply chain management systems and processes which leverage the optimum prices, quality and delivery schedules, as reported through site metrics.

Lead in the selection, evaluation and management of suppliers. Assure that relationships are developed and maintained with suppliers to ensure a high quality, reliable source of supplies and information.

Develop site level metrics to assess and improve the value of the supply chain according to division objectives; formally communicate results and progress monthly to business and site leadership.

Identify and promote information technology solutions and trends to improve supply chain management and achieve cost savings.

Manage key external and internal supply chain elements supporting inventory management goals.

Participate in Strategic Supply Chain development, including identification of new supplier opportunities, proposal preparation, ‘win strategy’ development and the achievement of contract awards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Demonstrated experience utilizing quality systems, lean and continuous improvement processes and state of the art supply chain practices is required.

Demonstrated expertise of ERP and MRP systems is required.

Proven experience building and developing a high performance team of supply chain professionals is required.

Experience in commodity management and operations/materials management is strongly preferred.

Some experience managing logistics as it relates to customer shipments is preferred.

ISM or APICS certification is preferred.

Willing to travel as required to other DAS sites and to supplier locations is required; may be up to 25-30% at times.

Demonstrates strong business acumen and leadership. Seen as a “go-to” person on critical business and supply chain issues.

A seasoned negotiator with excellent influencing skills.

Must be capable of operating in a highly matrixed environment.

Required Experience and Education

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related degree is required.Master Degree or MBA is preferred.

Minimum of 7-10 years well-rounded supply chain management experience in progressively senior positions. Experience must include supply chain management at a senior site level within the aerospace and defense industry.
