Job Summary: Provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Provides for the personal care and comfort of patients. Provides a clean, safe environment and maintains equipment and supplies. Assists with the development and implementation of psych- educational, goal setting and activity groups as directed by the Registered Nurse.Education: High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.Work Experience: 1 year of relevant experience required or Bachelor's degree in related field.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner. Demonstrates ability to perform non-violent crisis intervention and physical management of aggressive behavior. Demonstrates thorough understanding of documentation principles. Demonstrates understanding of variety of psychiatric disorders to include Mood Behavior Disorders, Bipolar Disorder and Mania, Depression, Anxiety, Psychoses, Alzheimers, and Chemical Dependencies. Demonstrates the ability to perform basic nursing care. Demonstrates knowledge of proper identification and reporting of medical/health care errors. Conflict resolution and problem solving abilities. Ability to work within interdisciplinary treatment team and milieu. Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and with direction.EOE Protected Veterans/Disability
