I’m looking for a caregiver for my mother, who is in the late stages of dementia and receiving hospice care at home. She is sensitive and vulnerable, and needs full support with daily living — meals, hygiene, mobility, transfers, incontinence care, and companionship. She is still talkative and social, and responds well to warm, steady presence.
We already have a full-time live-in caregiver, and are now looking for someone to provide regular respite shifts — ideally 20–30 hours per week — to offer coverage and support. This might look like 4-hour blocks a few days a week, or longer shifts depending on your availability. Flexibility is possible, but consistency is key.
We are in the process of downsizing into an apartment, and my goal is to keep my mom out of a nursing home. I’m building a small team of emotionally grounded caregivers who can help make that possible.
Musts:
Experience with caregiving (formal or informal)
Comfortable with full-assist care and end-of-life support
Reliable and emotionally steady
Open to non-medication-based approaches to anxiety (though hospice is involved)
Willing to undergo background check, reference check, credit check, and drug test (420 ok)
Location: Tulsa, OK
Schedule: Flexible respite shifts; open to live-in or extended arrangements
Pay: $15-$20/hr depending on experience
Start Date: Flexible; in-person interviews the week of May 26
If this resonates with you — or you know someone who would be a beautiful fit — please reach out with your background, availability, and what draws you to this work.
