Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading the day-to-day accounting functions and leading the Accounting Team.Vanguard EMS, Inc. is in the electronic manufacturing services business. Manage accounting department personnel, practices and procedures to maximize efficiency

Maintain and improve forecasting model

Strong working knowledge of all traditional accounting functions such as A/R, A/P, Payroll, G/L activities

Strong knowledge of product and job costing in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge of inventory tracking and valuation, standard variances and methodologies for resolution

Understanding of activity-based costing methodologies for overhead allocations

Drive budget process & Improve quote model in collaboration with other team members

Develop costing information systems by process, product and program, including an activity-based standard costing system

Ensure accurate inventory reporting

Manage year-end audit requirements of outside CPA firm

RequirementsWhat you’ll need:

Proficient in MS Excel and MRP/ERP systems, SQL database reporting, and data extraction

Advanced math skills and ability to work accurately with numbers required.

Demonstrated self-management and strong problem-solving skills with minimal supervision.

Detail oriented, accuracy, and thoroughness required.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Communicate in person, over the phone, email, internet or in writing in a positive and professional manner

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting

5+ years’ experience working in and leading accounting and finance functions within a manufacturing environment
