This key role requires a deep understanding of construction accounting and finance, construction job costing, as well as strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

Company Overview:

We are a multi-Company office; land development, property management, real estate, storage business in Oregon. We are seeking an Accounting Controller to join our team in Bend and play a vital role in our financial operations.

Job Description:

As an Accounting Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of our construction company. This key role requires a deep understanding of construction accounting and finance, construction job costing, as well as strong analytical, leadership and communication skills. Must possess knowledge of local, state and federal taxes at a high level in order to prepare data for a CPA.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

Prepare and oversee the timely and accurate financial reporting, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements.

Present financial data to the owner and provide insights into financial performance.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Develop and maintain the company's annual budgets.

Monitor and update financial forecasts based on project progress and market conditions.

Work with our banking contacts.

Oversee the monthly job cost report process with the Owner for internal and external use. Prepare financial data to forward to the CPA.

Cost Control:

Implement and maintain a robust cost control system to track project costs, monitor budget variances, and recommend cost-saving measures.

Cash Flow Management; prepared monthly for the owner.

Manage cash flow, ensuring the company has sufficient liquidity for operational needs.

Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to optimize cash flow.

Compliance and Taxation:

Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards, including tax compliance.

Collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals to complete audits and tax filings.

Financial Strategy:

Collaborate with owner to develop and execute financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability objectives.

Qualifications:

Several years of progressive experience in construction accounting and finance.

Proficiency in QuickBooks.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

Proven leadership experience in a financial role.
