Senior Accountant:

The Senior Accountant position is responsible for the day-to-day, which includes accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts and disbursements, inventory, investments, fixed assets, and month-end close. This position plays a key role in the month-end close by preparing complex account reconciliations, roll forward schedules, and various standard and non-recurring journal entries. This position is accountable for costing accounting activities. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, driven to succeed, with an uncommon thirst for accuracy. This individual performs at a high level in a growing and evolving. This position is the first in-house accounting position. The successful candidate will have opportunities for meaningful career growth.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and delegate tasks as appropriate.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities to meet deadlines on short notice.

Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of an organization.

Ability to operate with ambiguity in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Knowledge of inventory cost accounting and inventory control for manufacturing. Equivalent experience in an agriculture or manufacturing environment will be considered.

Ability to demonstrate discretion, good judgment, tactfulness and diplomacy.

Excellent understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and internal control principles.

Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, policies and proposals in a highly effective and efficient manner.

Demonstrated ability to research and resolve problems, including data mining and analysis.

Proven ability to read and effectively interpret complex documents, such as purchase and sale contracts.

Strong customer service skills with the ability to work successfully in partnership with cross-functional teams.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience. Public accounting experience preferred.

Experience with eCommerce, inventory management, and manufacturing is a plus.

Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, with particular emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
