Job Description:
Seed to Table Farm Educators work in a dynamic environment to engage K-12 grade students in farm-based education. Educators work as a team to facilitate farm field trips, and though lesson plans are provided, successful field trips require the energy and enthusiasm of each individual on the Farm Education team.
Duties:
Lead small groups (10-12 students) on farm exploration and lessons for 1.5 hours
Coordinate with the Program Director to schedule availability: Programs run April-June, and September-October. There are 2-8 field trips per week, which typically run 9am-11:30am and/or 12 pm - 2:30 pm. Each field trip is a 3 hour commitment.
Manage group to safely participate in farm activities
Facilitate an environment that celebrates the diversity of cultures and students’ relationship to fresh food
Requirements:
Coordinate reliable transportation to Seed to Table Farm in Sisters.
1-2 years experience in teaching K-12 students (formal or informal setting)
Pass a Background Check
Motivated and enthusiastic about fresh food
Training or desire to receive training surrounding Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity
Comfortable leading groups of 12 students outdoors
Basic knowledge of garden systems and ecology
Comfortable navigating email and Google Drive

Compensation: $23/hr + veggies
