Applications Administrators provide tactical support and services for specific applications. They provide configuration services, troubleshoot and seek resolution for application issues/defects and participate in exploring and planning potential improvements. Application Administrators act as the solution administrator for most key solutions, whether on premise or a SaaS model.
Responsibilities
Operational Support: End-User (35%)
Address production issues and problems from business and product vendors escalated from tier 1 support by providing tier 2 expertise resulting in reduced business impact of incidents by timely resolution Support activities include investigation, diagnosis, incident resolution/recovery, identification of acceptable workaround, and follow proper incident closure procedures for knowledge and reporting/metric purposes
Operational Support: Administration (30%)
Configure the application and maintaining appropriate documentation and versioning changes
Perform business approved security and role administration requests
Provide technical consultation with business and vendors
Identifying and resolving ongoing application problems
Improvements: Enhancements & Releases (15%)
Support internal and vendor roadmap development and execution efforts, actively participating in enhancement/improvement efforts; including project support
Provide entry-level quality assurance and validation of vendor software releases/patches and approved configuration changes to ensure a successful service transition
Improvements: Process & Administration (10%)
Administer and maintain documented processes and procedures to manage package configurations and security settings to encompass various usage scenarios
Data Management: Development & Quality Assurance (10%)
Support quality assurance activities to ensure an efficient, reliable and secure business application
Perform periodic reviews to identify system and data improvement opportunities
Document and curate knowledge relating to the management and support of the application/platform
Educational/Experience Requirements:
2 year college degree, preferably in computer science, management information systems (MIS), or related field (relevant work experience may be substituted for education requirement)
A minimum of 2 years' IT experience desired
Experience supporting users and working with business applications preferred
Required Technical Skills/Knowledge:
Moderate knowledge of computer operating systems such as Windows, Macintosh, ChromeOS and Linux Thin Clients
Moderate knowledge of additional desktop applications such as virus and security tools, desktop management packages, productivity suites (Google Workspace, MS Office/365), Active Directory, MDM/EMM/UEM, databases, and 3rd party COTS
Microsoft MCSE, MTA or A+ preferred
Prefer experience with Microsoft Intune
Moderate knowledge of system development methodologies and configuration management
Moderate knowledge of productivity applications (Google Applications, MS Office, etc.)
Moderate degree of knowledge in printer management, networking and telecommunications/phone systems
General knowledge of modem cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Basic understanding of modern Scripting and Programming Languages to automate solutions
