Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring a contract Formulation Scientist for our Scientific partner in Bend, OR.The anticipated hourly wage for this position is between $26 and $28. Available paid leave may include Paid Sick Leave, where required by law; any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law; and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteriaAssociate Formulation Scientist I - BendLocation/Division Specific InformationThe Bend, Oregon site is a multi-product and multi-client pharmaceutical development site specializing in developing and manufacturing solid oral dosage formulations of small molecules in preclinical and early phase clinical trials (phase 1 and 2). We are the Solubilization Center of Excellence within Pharma Services Group, and as such, have expertise in such technologies as hot-melt extrusion, spray-drying, and particle size reduction.The Associate Formulation Scientist I provides technical and manufacturing support to the Formulation and Process Development team in the production of pharmaceutical Spray Dried Intermediates (SDI) and Solid Dosage Forms (tablets, capsules, sachets).What will you do?· Assist senior group members in designing experiments, drafting protocols, troubleshooting equipment and processes, and gathering experimental data in lab notebooks consistent with company policy and good laboratory practices.· Learn to assemble and present technical data to clients and colleagues· Assemble, disassemble, operate and clean process equipment such as spray dryers, tablet presses, mills, roller compactors, fluid beds, hot melt extruders, and blenders.· Perform routine powder and tablet characterization.· Perform general maintenance on research & development (R&D) process and laboratory equipment as needed.How will you get here?Education· High school diploma or equivalent required· Bachelors degree in physical science, chemistry, chemical science, material science, engineering, or related field preferredExperience· One to Two years of technical experience in research lab or pharmaceutical industry requiredKnowledge, Skills, Abilities· Good work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a desire to learn.· Ability to multi-task and handle shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.· Effective written and verbal communication skills.· Attention to detail and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.· Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical formulations and solid dosage form unit operations preferred.Pay Details: $26.00 to $28.00 per hourBenefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
