BLISSFUL SPOON - HEAD BAKER

Do you love pastry, breads, baking, and a wonderful sense of community? We do too! Our lovely head baker will not be coming back from maternity leave, and so we find ourselves with an opening for a lead role in our small bakery team. Please read the description and contact us if you are interested. :-)

The person in this position will work closely with the owner to lead the bakery team and ensure that items are up to the highest standards. This includes:

- maintaining the FOH gluten-free bakery case,

- prepping and baking GF pastries and breads for the summer Farmers' Market,

- spearheading the production/packing of our granola for our growing portfolio of wholesale accounts

- managing the creation of desserts for our downstairs evening venue at Cellar 65

Gluten free baking experience is a definite plus in this role, as is the ability to organize and coordinate the team and inventory stock. Strong communication skills are a must.

You will need at least two years of experience in a commercial or restaurant bakery to be considered for this role. This is a full-time role with some special evening events and/or weekends.

The pay for this position will also include participation in our tip share. This position will earn up to $24-30/hr with our pooled tip system (DOE, starting at base of $17.50 + tips which adds the remaining /hr).

Extra perks include accrued sick days, 2 weeks of accrued vacation pay after 3 months of employment (and 3 weeks accrual after one year of employment), a Downtown parking allowance and employee discounts.
