(The Airport Custodian Series are recruiting to fill one opening. To be considered qualified, applicant must meet the minimum requirements for one of the following three levels of the Airport Custodian positions.)
SHIFTS:
Day:
6:00AM – 3:00PM
7:00AM – 4:00PM
8:00AM – 5:00PM
9:00AM – 6:00PM
Night:
3:00PM – 12:00AM
4:00PM – 1:00AM
5:00PM – 2:00AM
Airport Custodian I
Grade 6 – Salary $3412 - $4339
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Performs custodial duties to maintain the Airport Terminal, Snow Removal Equipment (SRE) building and general facility maintenance of terminal grounds and vehicle parking lots.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Mandatory Requirements:
High school diploma, or GED equivalent, plus twelve (12) months verifiable work experience in commercial custodian work. Must have knowledge of supplies, materials and equipment used in commercial custodial work. Must be able to successfully pass and maintain continuous successful FBI and TSA background checks.
Understand and execute complex oral and written instructions; express ideas and convey information effectively, orally and in writing; maintain confidentiality; deal effectively with frequent interruptions and several situations at one time; establish priorities and organize own workload; establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, public and private offices, and the general public; and effectively use business telephone etiquette.
Must be able to engage with and follow all security requirements.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPTMENT:
PPE requirements as outlined in the position specific PPE Hazard Assessment Certification.
Desirable Requirements:
For desirable requirements to be considered, one must have met the minimum requirements noted above:
- Two (2) years or more verifiable custodian work experience in an airport environment
- Two (2) years or more verifiable commercial custodian work experience
- Eighteen (18) months or more verifiable work experience in a City/County government
setting
- Possession of, or ability to obtain First Aid / CPR certification within six (6) months of

Special Requirements/Licenses:
The position may require employees to operate a motor vehicle in the course of their duties. Possession of, or required to obtain within thirty (30) days from date of hire, a valid Oregon driver’s license. Must have a safe driving record.
Airport Custodian II
Grade 8 – Salary $3762- $4785
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Performs custodial duties to maintain the Airport Terminal, Snow Removal Equipment (SRE) building and general facility maintenance of terminal grounds and vehicle parking lots. An employee in this classification is distinguished from the Custodian I classification in that in addition to performing basic custodial functions at the RDM Airport, the Custodian II performs at a more senior level, and the position may include directing and or training Custodian I positions and or Temporary Employees.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Mandatory Requirements:
High school diploma, or GED equivalent, plus three (3) years verifiable work experience in both commercial custodian work and commercial facilities maintenance. Must have knowledge of supplies, materials and equipment used in commercial custodial work and commercial facilities maintenance. Must be able to successfully pass and maintain continuous successful FBI and TSA background checks.
Understand and execute complex oral and written instructions; express ideas and convey information effectively, orally and in writing; maintain confidentiality; deal effectively with frequent interruptions and several situations at one time; establish priorities and organize own workload; establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, public and private offices, and the general public; and effectively use business telephone etiquette.

- Knowledge of facilities maintenance
- Possession of, or ability to obtain First Aid / CPR certification within six (6) months of
employment

Airport Custodian III
Grade 10 – Salary $4147- $5275
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This position is the third classification in the Airport Custodian series. Performs custodial duties to maintain the Airport Terminal, Snow Removal Equipment (SRE) building and general facility maintenance of terminal grounds and vehicle parking lots. An employee in this classification is distinguished from the Custodian I and Custodian II classification in that in addition to performing senior custodial functions at the RDM Airport, the Custodian III performs at an advanced level, and the position may include directing and or training Custodian I and Custodian II positions and or Temporary Employees.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Mandatory Requirements:
High school diploma, or GED equivalent, plus five (5) years verifiable work experience in commercial custodian work. Must have advanced knowledge of supplies, materials and equipment used in commercial custodial work. Must be able to successfully pass and maintain continuous successful FBI and TSA background checks.
Understand and execute complex oral and written instructions; express ideas and convey information effectively, orally and in writing; maintain confidentiality; deal effectively with frequent interruptions and several situations at one time; establish priorities and organize own workload; establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, public and private offices, and the general public; and effectively use business telephone etiquette.

Desirable Requirements:
For desirable requirements to be considered, one must have met the minimum requirements noted above:
- Have (6) years of experience of working with chemicals that are utilized in a commercial custodial setting.
- Have (6) years’ experience in working with Tenant or similar stand-on, Ride-on and manual
- carpet extraction and technics.
- Have (6) years’ experience in stripping, waxing, and buffing of all hard surfaces and
- equipment to accomplish task.
- Six (6) years or more verifiable custodian work experience in an airport environment.
- Six (6) years or more verifiable commercial custodian work experience.
- Four (4) years verifiable work experience in a City/County government setting.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain First Aid / CPR certification within six (6) months of
- employment.
