Job Type: Full-time, part-time, live-in caregiver
Shift: 2 to 4 days, 24-hour shifts
Our AFH is a small, quiet and peaceful home where we care for five residents that are mostly independent. The residents spend most of the time in their rooms and do not require assistance with bathing or toiletry. We are looking for a caregiver that’s patient and after training can work without on-site supervision. You should have a heart for caring for people. We will train you with or without experience. You will help residents with their daily activities such as meeting individual care plan goals, attending medical and case manager appointments, assisting with chores. Care giver will live at the AFH while on duty. On a yearly basis you will be are required to complete 12 hours of continued education (paid).
Job Duties Include (Not limited to):
Light housekeeping
Assisting with personal care
Meal prep
Document and administer medication as ordered by licensed medical professionals.
Help residents prepare for appointments.
Communicate with all members of each resident’s care team, from family to medical staff
Arrange transportation to and from appointments.
Maintain accurate documentation that follows company and state policies.
Qualifications:
Must be 21 years of age or older
Experience in mental health field preferred but not required
Driver's license preferred but not required
Be able to read, write and speak fluent English
Be computer literate or willing to learn electronic documentation
Be able to pass DHS / Criminal History Background Check
Maintain CPR/AED certification (paid training is provided)
A driver’s license is preferred but not required, reliable transportation.
