Mountain Sky, Inc. is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Landscape Operations Manager.
The Landscape Operations Manager works congruently with the Landscape Construction Division Manager to direct and oversee the daily operations of the Landscape Construction Division. The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the management of all field tasks required to support the efficient operations of all Landscape Construction projects. The Operations Manager assists in the process of hiring, training, and evaluating the Landscape Construction crews.
This position’s highest priority is training Landscape Construction crew members to develop them into people who can train, manage, and operate within their crews effectively and independently. Another high priority duty is ensuring all foremen and their crews are carrying out daily/weekly tasks as efficiently as possible. Ensuring crews are staying on schedule and working with crews as needed to keep on schedule.
Responsibilities
Financial & Administrative Operations
Assists Landscape Construction Division Manager in monitoring job costs and making appropriate recommendations or adjustments to ensure project profitability.
Monitors labor costs to adhere to contract budgets and ensure proper time management within crews.
Collects all expense receipts from crew members as needed and submits receipts to the Landscape Construction Division Manager for review.
Assists in the scheduling of daily operations of Landscape Construction crews.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining client relationships via email, phone, etc.
Accurately completes all paperwork related to the position.
Field & Yard Operations
Assists in the execution of pre- and post-job meetings with Project Foremen and clients.
Places high level of priority on spending 75% of the day in the field with crews to train and evaluate crews, seek opportunities for continuous improvement, and create and maintain a consistent standard of work.
Responsible for performing regular site inspections as needed on each property throughout all Landscape Construction accounts.
Monitors the process of crew mobilization, managing workloads, and scheduling needs. Monitors daily paperwork/electronic work logs and ensures that all daily procedures (key, fleet, fueling, etc.) are followed.
Assists in supervising the daily opening and closing of the Landscape Construction portion of the facility/yard.
Effectively communicates with Division Managers, Foremen, Administrators, and all other management staff.
Personnel Operations
Assists the Landscape Construction Division Manager in the processes of hiring, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating personnel.
Responsible for developing and implementing a continuous training program to drive crew efficiency.
-Assists in the initial onboarding process and training of new employees.
-Facilitates the training and continued use of electronic work logs other job-related technology.
-Trains Project Foremen to maintain and promote effective business practices in running their jobs by structuring scheduled meetings and training sessions.
Works closely with other Senior Staff to implement safety training and to maintain safe workplace practices.
Leads by example in all tasks and always holds team members and themselves accountable to set a high standard of excellence.

Adheres to and administers company policies and procedures to promote company core values and the MSI mission.
Performs other incidental and related duties as required.
Snow Operations
Assists in executing an efficient annual transition from landscape season to snow season and back again.
Coordinates snow operation in conjunction with the Landscape Construction Division Manager by creating a proactive approach to all seasonal workloads including training, crew coordination, and communication.
Assists in snow season preparations, including but not limited to property mapping and routing.
Willing and able to perform all snow-related work duties including night shifts and overtime as required.
Qualifications
3 years of landscape managerial experience.
A passion for teaching and training.
Ability to maintain an insurable Oregon driver’s license.
Understands how to motivate a diverse workforce.
Must be a proactive thinker/planner.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills.
General knowledge of technology and computer software, including Microsoft suite.
Bilingual (English and Spanish speaking)
