Ranch Hand/Property Caretaker Opportunity
Do you have a desire to stay living in the beautiful area of Central Oregon but having a hard time affording it? We are seeking a responsible and reliable individual with a strong work ethic to assist with general ranch duties. This is a unique opportunity for affordable living in exchange for part-time work.
Responsibilities:
-Feeding hay and grain to designated horses (rotating schedule, mornings and evenings, year-round).
-Manure cleanup (2-3 x per week) and general barn maintenance (depending on experience)
-Light-duty ranch work, including sweeping, grounds maintenance, and other tasks as needed.
Compensation/Living Arrangement:
-Reduced rent of $250 per month for living in an existing RV on the property, or the option to park your own RV. Photos of the RV can be supplied upon request.
-Option to board 1-2 horses (must be well-trained and easily handled). Boarders are responsible for all horse care, including farrier services and feed. If you choose to bring horses, you will be responsible for maintaining a level of care for them that meets the ranch's standards. This includes routine vet care and farrier care at your expense. Failure to provide adequate care in these areas is a deal breaker.
Requirements:
-Proven work ethic and reliability.
-Clean and organized living habits.
-Respectful and polite demeanor.
-No illegal drug use or alcohol abuse.
-No violent criminal history (against humans or animals).
-Not currently on probation or parole.
-Minimum part-time employment and ability to maintain it. this means you need to be employed, at least PART TIME, somewhere else and have a steady, reliable source of income. Failure to maintain this or prove, is a deal breaker.
-One recent employer reference and one personal reference.
-Preference given to those with prior horse/ranch/farm experience.
-Horses brought onto the property must have good ground manners and be able to be handled by others.
Additional Information:
-One personal vehicle and one ATV, or horse trailer allowed.
-No excessive storage of personal items on the property. This facility is not your storage unit.
