Baxter Law, LLC is a cutting edge and rapidly growing law firm located in the Old Mill District of bend. We are looking for one or two seasoned Paralegals or experienced Legal Assistants with some legal experience in civil/family law practice, but willing to train the right person. This person will work under the direction of the firm's Attorneys, Operation Manager and Paralegals. The ideal candidate for this position is organized, professional, responsible, able to adapt quickly in our fast-paced environment, and be ready to help us meet all of our clients' needs.
Responsibilities:
Take direction from Attorneys and other staff.
Field phone calls from clients, opposing attorneys and staff, court staff and others as necessary.
Draft legal documents (pleadings; discovery documents, etc.) utilizing Microsoft Word, Clio and Adobe Acrobat DC Pro.
Meet multiple deadlines on a daily basis.
Establish and maintain case files.
Schedule client meetings.
Organize discovery
Draft legal correspondence.
Calendar court dates and deadlines.
Answer telephones when necessary
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
2 years of legal background in Family Law and/or Civil Litigation
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Strong communication and organizational skills necessary.
Ability to multi-task and shift gears quickly and frequently.
Team-oriented individual with excellent customer service skills
Proficiency with Mac computers is helpful
Compensation depends on how much experience you have in these areas of law and salary is generally above industry standards for Bend. Range will be between $22.00 - $28.00 per hour depending on experience.
Position is full-time, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
