Ocean Equipment is the manufacturer of NavPod Waterproof Housings for Marine Electronics. We are the market share leader with worldwide distribution in the Boating Industry. We are currently looking to add a part-time member to our small manufacturing team at our Bend, Oregon location.
Our manufacturing process involves heat thermoforming of plastic material to create our parts, then cutting, sanding, gluing, and assembly of those parts. Primary duties of this position may include trim work, sanding, gluing, and assembly of parts.
A qualified candidate should possess the following traits:
- General mechanical aptitude (comfortable with hand drill, hand tools, woodworking tools etc.).
- Excellent attention to detail, as each part and assembly must meet a consistent level of quality.
- Willingness to work where needed, as our manufacturing schedule can change depending on order volume, manufacturing flow, etc.
- Comfortability with wearing protective equipment, since some processes involve wearing eye protection, ear protection, and a respirator mask (for gluing).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and be comfortable working on your feet for a full day in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to take corrective instruction well.
- Good attitude and communication skills to work efficiently and get along with the rest of our team.
- Good work ethic and self-management skills. You should be able to keep yourself busy, even if it means asking someone, What should I do now?
We are looking to fill this part-time position immediately. We have a great working environment here, so finding the right fit is very important to us. Starting wage is $13.50/hour at 20-25 hours/week. Our operating hours are M-F from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The start time for this position will be flexible for your schedule and can alternate daily if needed. This would be perfect for someone with other responsibilities during the week.
