ABOUT US
Reef Advocates is a new nonprofit dedicated to coral reef conservation. We are building out an ecosystem of technologies to advance reef monitoring (data collection) and to accelerate the development and deployment of interventions to help save coral reefs.
We got started this year in Bend, OR. Our work is remote/WFH, and most of our work is remote from reefs themselves.

ABOUT THE POSITION
We are looking for a new member of the Board (Director). Directors perform organizational oversight and vote on key matters to drive the mission.
This is an unpaid position, but depending on your experience, we may pay you in a consulting capacity for non-Board-related work. The time commitment is minimal (several hours per quarter), but the impact you can have is huge!
Qualifications:
1. Enthusiasm for coral reef conservation
2. Basic knowledge about the major threats reefs face and why reefs are important
3. One or more of the following:
Experience as a Director, Executive Director, Manager, or Administrator at a nonprofitExperience in an Advancement position at a nonprofitExperience as a technologist (Software developer, Dev Ops, Data scientist, IT, etc)Experience as a professional or research SCUBA diverExperience with another conservation organization, or in conservation science/researchOther relevant experience or connections adjacent to non-profits, conservation, or reefs
