CASA of Central Oregon is a nonprofit organization that recruits, trains, and supports volunteers who advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the court system. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) volunteers work within the courts in collaboration with key agencies, legal counsel, and community resources to ensure that every child in foster care in Central Oregon can transition into a safe and permanent home.
We are looking for a Part Time Program Coordinator to join our team. The Program Coordinator is the first point of contact and support for volunteer CASAs. This position works closely with volunteers to ensure that they receive the support and guidance they need to fully advocate for children in foster care. This position will support advocates in Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson counties and must be able to travel between each county.
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
The ability to supervise and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles as advocates for children who have experienced abuse and/or neglect
A commitment to CASA’s goals and mission
Education or experience working within the child welfare system
The ability to travel between Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson counties
Strong skills in public speaking, written and verbal communication, organization, collaboration, interpersonal relationships, and small group facilitation
The ability to work cooperatively with different types of personalities in high-stress situations
Computer experience including Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel, etc), Adobe Acrobat, and Gmail
The position is 20 hours per week, $24 - 25/hr. Benefits include health insurance, 401k, PTO, flexible schedules, and a positive working environment that focuses on a balanced work-life structure.
