WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?
Saving Grace offers a competitive total compensation package! The hourly rate for our Advocate is $21.10/hr (eligible for a 5% bilingual differential), depending on experience. Saving Grace also offers 3 weeks of PTO at hire for benefitted employees that elevates to over 6 weeks of PTO at your four-year anniversary and 12 paid holidays - all Federal Holidays plus International Women’s Day, Juneteenth, the day after Thanksgiving, and a floating holiday to be used at the employee’s discretion. As part of the complete compensation package, Saving Grace offers benefits which include medical, dental, and life insurance, as well as a 3-5% match of employee contributions to a 403(b) account and a childcare reimbursement stipend. WHAT YOU GET TO DO!
The Post Separation Legal Advocate provides trauma-informed support for parent survivors of intimate partner violence, stalking, and/or sexual assault who are involved with Mary’s Place Supervised Visitation & Safe Exchange program. The Mary’s Place Post-Separation Advocate provides a wide range of services including safety planning, crisis counseling and ongoing assistance with civil legal matters, case coordination, help with basic needs and referrals to community partners and other services of Saving Grace.
The following strengths are needed to be successful in the role: ability to work independently as well as with a team, self-starter, flexible, non-judgmental and open-minded, highly organized, able to maintain confidentiality, sense of humor, ability to practice self-care and maintain healthy boundaries while working with individuals in crisis.
One to two years working with domestic violence, social services or a related field or any combination of work/life experience relevant to the work will be considered. Understanding of social justice and experience working effectively with underserved and marginalized populations needed. Prior experience with civil legal/court systems preferred. Bi-lingual (Spanish) desirable but not required.
