Compensation: $27.26-29.64/hour- Depending on education level (+0.50 if Bilingual Spanish/English)

NeighborImpact’s Early Head Start Overview
NeighborImpact’s Early Head Start program provides comprehensive early childhood education and family support services to families with children from birth to age three, as well as pregnant women. Early Head Start aims to foster school readiness and social competence, ensuring children and families receive the necessary resources and support during the critical early years.
Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The purpose of Early Head Start home-based program is to encourage and support parents as their child’s primary teacher and nurturer. This position will provide early, continuous, intensive, and comprehensive child development and family support services to eligible pregnant women, infants, and toddlers to promote secure parent-child relationships and help parents provide high-quality early learning experiences.
This role is a substitute position and involves crafting, organizing, and documenting suitable educational activities tailored to children's developmental stages. It includes conducting weekly 90-minute home visits to monitor and achieve family objectives. Additionally, the job entails working with colleagues to coordinate bi-monthly gatherings for families. Candidates must possess outstanding communication abilities, adaptability, and experience in engaging with diverse, frequently underserved communities. This multifaceted position integrates educational, social, and community involvement elements to support positive family environments and child growth.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education requirements:
1. Associate Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Family Development or related field required.
2. Within 18 months of hire: 120 training hours, or 11 college credit hours, in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field.
Availability for some evening and weekend hours required
Experience in Early Childhood, social services, health or family support programs providing parent education and support preferred
Experience planning developmentally appropriate activities for infants and toddlers preferred
Education or experience in working with adults in a helping and teaching role preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Head Start or Early Head Start experience preferred
Head Start or Early Head Start parent or past parent preferred
Access to reliable transportation required
Prior to date of hire and thorough employment, certification of the following are required:
Valid driver’s license
Proof of current auto insurance
Food Handler’s Card
Current enrollment in the Oregon’s Central Background Registry
Within 60 days of hire, Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification is required
Above certifications must be kept current to remain employed
Must have an initial health examination, and a periodic re-examination (as recommended by health care provider)so as to assure that employees do not because of communicable diseases, pose a significant risk to the health or safety of others, that cannot be eliminated or reduced by reasonable accommodation.
