Hours, Pay, & Essential Details

Part-time, 24-30 hours/week

$22 - $26/hour

Majority of work performed on-site with hybrid options available. We believe in flexibility and work-life balance. All work must be completed in Deschutes County.

Position Overview

Are you looking for a mission driven role where you can apply your positive outlook and ability to coordinate all the little details? The Office and Operations Administrator role at Nativity has a direct impact on the congregation and community by fulfilling the following functions:

- Coordinating with staff and volunteers to ensure smooth daily operations across worship services and community ministries

- Fostering fantastic first impressions of Nativity with visitors and community members

- Make a difference by connecting individuals in need with our church and community resources

- Keep everyone in the know by crafting and publishing church documents, newsletters, and service materials

- Create a great employee experience at Nativity by assisting with personnel functions

Experience Required

- Front and back office management and administration

- Coordination and communication across a variety of audiences and platforms

- Independent and creative problem solving

- Desktop publishing

Key Responsibilities:

Administration:

- Coordinate volunteers across church roles and community ministries

- Maintain church and staff calendars

- Manage attendance, membership, and giving records

- Facilitate visitor communications and records

- Coordinates and contributes to publishing the Annual Congregational Report for State and National Synod

- Coordinate new member classes

- Maintain required congregational documentation and statistics

- Facilitate employee lifecycle activities as direct by personnel committee and supervisory staff

- Act as a point of contact and resource for employees for process, policy, and payroll related questions

Communications:

- Prepare and publish written materials for worship services, ceremonies, events, newsletters, and mailings

- Update website and social media accounts

- Connect community members in need with church and local resources

Oversee Facilities:

- Supervise facility maintenance staff and volunteers

- Schedule events and facility use

- Oversee lease agreements, insurance, system tests, and inspections

Working Relationships

- Reports to Lead Pastor

- Supervises volunteers, custodian, and nursery staff

- Collaborates closely with Music Ministry and Personnel Committee

Qualifications

- Strong interpersonal and administrative skills

- Proficiency with Apple software (Keynote, Pages, Excel, Word)

- Experience with desktop publishing

- Effective written communication

Preferred (But Not Required) Qualifications

- Bilingual (English/Spanish)

- Familiarity with worship services common to the Lutheran church or Protestant denominations
