EXPERIENCE LEVEL
Northwest Framing Systems is looking for a talented and passionate individual to join our team as a Safety Manager. General Construction Experience is required. Our ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, assertive, and self-motivated.
WORK HOURS & EXPECTATIONS
We are looking for a candidate who can fulfill a +/- 10-hour work week. This position is a hybrid role that requires work in the field at various job locations as well as administrative time in the office or home office. In terms of payroll; we can W-2 or 1099 (negotiable). If you elect to be 1099 then you would be responsible for providing Workers Compensation Insurance, General Liability Insurance, and I9.
SAFETY MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
-Overseeing inventory of PPE and enforcing PPE to be worn in the field
-Conducting New Hire Orientation.
-Conduct certified training classes (fall protection, forklift, aerial lift, rigging/ hand signal, first aid & CPR) in the classroom.
-Conduct weekly random drug testing
-Enforce Northwest Framing Systems Safety Manual and OSHA guidelines
-Conduct Safety Job Walks regularly to identify potential hazards or safety violations
-Oversee dangerous Construction activities and use of Heavy Machinery
-Revise the company Safety Manual as needed
-Address any workplace-related health incidents and accidents
-Stocking inventory of First Aid supplies at all job sites
-Stay up to date on new State and Federal Safety Regulations
-Regular Machinery and Safety Equipment inspections
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
-Valid Driver's License, Pass an initial drug screening, Pass a criminal history check
-Interpreting OSHA laws and regulations (for commercial construction) and enforce in the field
-State of Oregon B.O.L.I.
-Incident/accident investigation and reporting.
-Technical and professional writing and regulation interpretation
-Problem-solving and researching complex OSHA safety guidelines and interpreting/explaining to crews
-Familiar w/ CFR 29
-Public speaking
-Interpersonal communication
-Fostering a strong Safety culture
-Coordinate with all team members
-Internet research; supply ordering, regulation research
-Inspect fall protection equipment
-Heavy Equipment & Rigging knowledge
-Efficient Communication Skills (both verbal and written)
-Computer Skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, Google Drive)
-General Construction Knowledge and Terminology
