We are a growing accounting firm in Prineville, Oregon that is looking for a seasonal receptionist and tax processor (no prior tax knowledge is required).
This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible. It is a full-time position starting as seasonal with the potential for permanent hiring. Hours during tax season (January to April) are Monday through Friday 8:30 to 4:30. Off tax-season hours are Monday – Thursday 8:30 – 4:30 and Friday 8:30 – noon. Pay is DOE but will start at $18/hour.
Duties include the following:
Answering phones
Assisting clients that come into the office, scheduling appointments
Collate, assemble, and file various tax returns for the tax practice
Scanning tax returns to electronic files
New client setup
Print Organizers and Engagement Letters
Prep package to mail to client
Update internal databases related to filing, calendars and other client data
General office maintenance
Other duties as assigned
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
High school diploma or equivalent; completed coursework from an accredited college/university is preferred
At least 1 year of office experience performing clerical work
Experience utilizing office technical tools including office scanners, printers, and copiers.
Ability to understand the basics of tax software used by staff (training provided)
Ability to manage multiple tasks
Ability to understand the basics of the tax return assembly that are processed
Strong attention to detail
Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Effective organization and time management skills
Ability to stand for several hours if required
Strong proofreading and grammar skills
Ability to lift 20-40 lbs
Experience with QuickBooks and Lacerte is a plus but not required
