Automotive Mechanic

We are seeking a full-time auto mechanic to work in our auto shop in the northern part of Central Oregon.

We are looking for someone who wants to work in the automotive industry in a small shop, full-time. This is a family-run business just starting out, looking to grow and make a name for itself. We want to bring the right person on-board who wants to be a part of the team and help shape the culture of the company and grow with us.

Responsibilities:

- Your technical skills will be at the core of our success,

- Repairs: Diagnosing and repairing vehicles with consistent precision and expertise across all aspects of automotive systems, from engines and transmissions to electrical and computerized components. We will give preference to individuals with knowledge in diesel mechanics.

- Company Standards: Ensuring that every repair is executed to the highest industry standards, focusing on quality, safety, and efficiency.

- Troubleshooting: Analyzing complex automotive issues and devising effective solutions to get vehicles back on the road promptly.

- Continuous Learning: Staying ahead of the curve by actively seeking out the latest advancements in automotive technology and repair techniques and ability to find solutions to existing problems.

- Company Building: Collaborating with our team to help build more of a presence in the community and on-line.

Requirements:

- Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of automotive repair, from basic jobs to complete engine replacements, tire changing and diagnostics tools. We are looking for someone with a verifiable track record of successfully troubleshooting and resolving intricate problems (and preferably, will also have experience and knowledge with diesel engines).

- Certifications: Although not required, we will give preference to ASE Certified mechanics.

- Positive Attitude: Customers are stressed when their vehicles are not working, so having a positive attitude and being courteous and professional to customers is a valuable part of their experience.

- Self-starter: Being able to work alone and unsupervised on existing vehicles, maintaining shop cleanliness and safety, and supporting customer outreach.

- Computer & Diagnostics Systems: Being able to work with (be trained to use) shop software for invoicing, setting up work orders, managing office paperwork and receipts, placing orders, and handling transactions.

- Professionalism: Appearance, language, and behavior is professional, courteous, and reflective of the company core values.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Piece Rate with minimum 40 hours per week (negotiable). Our piece rate pay is offered as a percentage of our hourly customer rate during repair jobs and is ensured to meet a minimum rate for a 40-hour work week.

Expected hours: 40 per week

Experience level: We are looking for a mechanic with an established background in automotive service repair of at least 5 years (required), and will give preference to ASE Certified mechanics or mechanics with a provable, longer-term background in automotive and diesel repair.

Schedule: Monday to Friday (may include some Saturdays)

License/Certification: Driver's License (Required), ASE Certified (Preference given)

Work Location: In person
