Automotive Technician

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Technician to join our service team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, diagnostic and maintenance, with experience working on a variety of vehicle makes and models, including GM vehicles and diesel engines. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. We are a family business, owned and operated by the same owner for 23 years, now being ran with the help of his family. Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive diagnostics using advanced automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues with vehicles.

Conduct repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems including engine, transmission, powertrain, electrical systems, and diesel engines.

Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems.

Repair or replace components such as transmissions, powertrain parts, alignments, and other mechanical systems.

Use hand tools and power tools efficiently for repairs and maintenance tasks.

Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.

Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs needed and maintaining professional communication.

Assist in estimating repair costs accurately using auto estimating software.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety protocols.

Keep up-to-date with the latest automotive technology including ADAS systems and welding techniques.

Requirements

Proven experience as an Automotive Technician or Service Technician with a solid understanding of automotive repair procedures. (3-5 years of verifiable experience required)

Dealership experience is highly desirable but not required.

Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, schematics, powertrain components, transmissions, and diesel engine repair.

Familiarity with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration and alignment procedures.

Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and auto estimating software.

Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Experience working on GM vehicles is a plus.

Ability to diagnose complex vehicle issues accurately and efficiently.

Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude.
