Position Overview
HD Construction & Excavation seeks a skilled and innovative Excavation Foreman/Superintendent to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is experienced supervising a crew of laborers to install pipe, underground utilities, concrete, and other Excavation services. Supervise and coordinate excavation projects to ensure safety, efficiency, and adherence to plans. The Foreman provides direct support to the Project Manager & Estimator and leads a crew of excavation laborers and operators. The position requires a Heavy Equipment Operator certification.
Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and manage a crew of laborers and equipment operators.
- Ensure the crew follows all safety policies, conducts safety meetings, and maintains a safe work environment.
- Monitor and direct daily excavation and grading activities.
- Coordinate and schedule work, manage resources, and maintain project timeline
- Inspect the quality of work to ensure it meets project specifications and blueprints.
- Communicate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve issues and ensure smooth project flow.
- Oversee the use, maintenance, and scheduling of heavy equipment.
- Prepare daily log reports, manage time-sheets, and process necessary paperwork.
- Ensure all necessary materials, permits, and equipment are available for the job site.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience as an equipment operator or in a related construction role.
- Strong understanding of excavation, grading, surveying, and utility installation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Thorough knowledge of excavation safety regulations and trench box safety
- Certifications OSHA 30 certification; Heavy Equipment Operator
- Ability to perform physical tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Lifting, bending, crawling, walking, & climbing required
- Procore & GPS software

- Pay Rate 40.00 per hour
