Job Title – Transportation Operations Coordinator

Hours – Normal business hours with some occasional overtime

Position based in Bend, OR

Summary of Duties:

Under direction of the Transportation Director, the Transportation Operations Coordinator will provide technical support for Cascades East Transit (CET) programs within the Central Oregon region. This position will write reports and documents, implement changes in scheduling and route systems and software, and receive, tabulate and review data to perform analysis and identify and implement improvements in service delivery, projects, and technical systems.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 4 years of work experience performing work that involves data review and analysis, technical and report writing, project support, or comparable work; or an equivalent combination of education and comparable work experience.

- Preferences: Experience working for a transportation agency providing technical and programmatic support, transportation coordination, or planning functions. Knowledge of transportation principles and practices.

- Must have the ability to work as part of a team and communicate and interact positively

- Must have the ability to work professionally and collaboratively with diverse partner groups and a wide range of personalities and treat all staff and customers with professionalism, courtesy, and respect. Maintain and promote positive and professional standards in representing the organization in the community and amongst employees.

- Ability to understand standard public sector concepts and terminology

- Effective oral and written communication skills

- Strong time management skills and ability to organize tasks and follow through on completing them with minimal guidance needed

- Ability to review complex data, perform independent analysis, and report findings effectively

- Ability to write technical and professional documents and reports

- Ability to work with complex databases and computer systems, GIS systems, and transit mapping systems using GPS and data

- Knowledge of basic office procedures, machines, practices, and business English.

- Computer experience in spreadsheet and word processing programs including Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365 environment

- Must be able to work on detailed projects and follow established guidelines, requirements and policy. Ability to make decisions in accordance with policy, utilizing established systems.

- Must maintain client and agency confidentiality

- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle or equivalent means of transportation

- Must pass a criminal background check
