Corvallis Montessori School has a history of almost 60 years of serving children and families in the Corvallis community. Our beautiful classrooms are filled with natural light and a full complement of Montessori materials. We have a great appreciation for a child’s need to explore nature. All of our classrooms include outdoor garden environments as well as a sizable playground space. We are looking to hire a toddler classroom assistant and several aftercare positions.
All positions are available, but enrollment in the Oregon Central Background Registry and related requirements will need to be completed beforehand. Corvallis Montessori School will pay for First Aid, CPR, and Food Handler’s certifications upon successful completion of the requirements.
Job Description: Includes but is not limited to: assisting with providing a nurturing Montessori environment for preschool and or toddler age children. All positions require playground and classroom supervision, assisting children with classroom activities, simple food preparation, light cleaning and tidying tasks, assisting children with toileting, napping, etc. Full time employees qualify for medical (after 30 days) dental/vision insurance (after 60 days), as well as an employer sponsored 401k plan with matching employer contribution up to 3% per paycheck.
Job Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older to apply. Due to state childcare regulations, applicants must pass a pre-employment criminal background check, have/obtain a current First Aid, CPR, Food Handler certification, and other DELC required online classes within 30 days of employment. Applicants must have reliable transportation to and from the job site. Position requires 15 hours of continuing education in child development training annually (to be paid for by CMS). Applicants need the ability to display a positive attitude towards children, staff and parents. Excellent communication skills, flexibility, and patience are essential for our community.
The full time aftercare position will require an applicant with at least one year of experience working in a childcare setting.
All positions begin in late August, so employees can attend teacher inservice. Regular schedules begin September 3rd.
Full-time Toddler or Assistant Position: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (M-F)
Full-time Primary (ages 3-6) Aftercare Position: 10:00 am to 5:30 pm (M-F)
Part-time Primary(ages 3-6) Aftercare Position: 2:00-5:00 pm (M-F)
