Salary Range: $81,120 - $88,600 DOE

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a caring, experienced Personnel Director who will be a guardian of our organizational values and a champion for employee well-being. This role goes beyond traditional HR functions — it is about ensuring every employee feels supported, valued, and empowered to thrive. You will lead recruitment, benefits administration, compliance, and culture-building initiatives for our team of 120 dedicated employees. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will help create a workplace that reflects Benco’s heart-centered mission and commitment to service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead mission-aligned talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention efforts that prioritize person-centered values

Ensure compliance with employment, safety, and benefits laws to safeguard employee rights and organizational integrity

Manage comprehensive employee benefits, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and paid leave

Drive performance management and employee engagement strategies rooted in respect and growth

Collaborate closely with leadership and the Board to uphold policies that reflect our core values and support sustainable operations

Provide direct supervision to key administrative and maintenance staff, fostering a supportive team culture

Model and advocate for a workplace where kindness, open communication, and continuous learning flourish

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline required

At least 5 years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in nonprofit settings

SHRM or equivalent HR certification strongly preferred

Deep knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and nonprofit compliance

Empathetic communicator with discretion, sound judgment, and a collaborative spirit

Technologically savvy with experience in HR digital tools and systems
